My mother used to tell me, “On a toujours besoin de petites mains en cuisine” – a phrase that holds a deeper meaning beyond the literal translation of “you always need small hands in the kitchen.” It is a reassuring concept that for those of us that lack talent we can still have a role in the kitchen.
As someone who doesn’t possess much skills in the kitchen, I find solace in being the “small hands”.
