Recipe from my former roommate and cooking mentor, Heather. I used to love when she would make that in our darling San Francisco apartment as they were both delicious and they gave an amazing smell to the flat.
ingredient:
- °2 cups Large raw pecans
- 2 TBS Butter
- 2 TBS Cumin
- 1-2 TSP Cayenne (depends on how spicy you like your nuts…)
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1 TBS Salt
Preheat oven at 300° F
Step 1:
Melt the butter in a large skillet, add the Cumin and Cayenne – mix and cook for about 3 minutes (until fragrant)
Step 2:
Add the Pecans and toss.
Step 3:
Mix the salt and sugar and sprinkle over the pecans, toss well.
Step 4:
On a large baking sheet spread the pecans (they should not overlap) and roast in the oven until the pecans are several shade darker (about 20 mn – check every 10mn)
